Bathroom Makeover

We wanted to give our small bathroom on our main level a facelift without completely renovating it. We came across some really cool products that are perfect to DIY that we knew would make a big difference. Here is the picture of the bathroom before:

We wanted to make it brighter and feel more modern. Here are the small things we did that made a HUGE difference:

  • Replace the hardware (faucet, toilet paper holder, towel rack)
  • Replace the mirror
  • Replace the light fixture
  • Paint the vanity and add marble contact paper to the top
  • Added wallpaper
  • Painted the tile

The wallpaper we used is HaokHome wallpaper and we loved it!! For tips & tricks on using this wallpaper, check out this blog post.

We knew when we painted the vanity (step by step on painting the vanity here) and added the wallpaper the granite wouldn’t look right so we were excited to find this adhesive marble look contact paper! It really is unnoticeable in person that it’s only an adhesive. Check out our tips on using this marble marble contact paper.

The hardware we chose is from Amazon. We liked how simple and modern they were and they were great quality and easy to install.

The mirror we went with is simple but felt more updated than the plain oval mirror. It went along with the clean, bright and modern look we were going for.

We wanted the light fixture to match the feel and the new hardware but didn’t want something expensive. We were really impressed of the price and the look of this fixture.

Once we made the other updates, we knew the floors would have to go. They looked yellow and old compared to everything else so we headed to depot and we’re excited to find this rustoleum floor tile paint! Step by step on using this here.

Lastly, we updated the faucet to match the new hardware and the mirror. It was pretty straight forward to install!

Here is the after!!
